Féline Minne and Catharina Dhaen exhibit as a result of their duo residency at Witte Rook.
Liquid Identity is a concept from sociology and fits both artists’ humane attitude, but also with what they do with liquid colors on canvas or paper. Both painters pull the idea of fluidity inside out, shake it upside down and turn it upside down. This is how the title of this work period and duo presentation was born: Identity Liquid. Here the emphasis is more on paint (the visual) and the nonsense (the substantive). Both artists create visual daydreams. These daydreams germinate in the perception of the environment. This is a form of magic realism. It invites the viewer to enter another dimension. This other dimension only exists in art or the imagination.
Opening on Sunday 1 September 2019 at 3 p.m.
Identity Liquid can be visited from 1 to 15 September on Thurs-Sun from 1 pm to 5 pm.
