In collaboration with Make Eindhoven we present on Sunday afternoon 17 October, 14:00 o’clock It starts with a room for yourself / It starts with a room of one’s own a video installation by Mirte van Duppen & Lotte Lentes.
The film is an interpretation of a working period as an Artist in Residence. Artist Mirte van Duppen filmed the working and living spaces at eleven residencies in Brabant. Although the spaces are empty of people, numerous traces can be found that suggest the presence of the artist. With an eye for detail and subtle use of rhyme, Mirte sketches a visual experience of these locations. Then writer Lotte Lentes responded to these images in text. By reflecting on the images in a poetic and associative way, the viewer is invited to empathize with the role of resident.
The film can be seen at Make Eindhoven from Saturday 16 October during the entire Dutch Design Week.
