Witte Rook

Stationslaan 111
4815 GW Breda
The Netherlands

Description

Witte Rook operates as an online and offline platform that focuses on the written word, the authentic image and artist processes. This is reflected in the provision of work periods such as Artist in Residence and online publications.

Organisation

Witte Rook is located in the Liniekwartier district, a multicultural neighborhood in the vicinity of the Breda station. The work, living and presentation place is literally and figuratively on the border between the intimacy of social processes and the speed of urban life. Witte Rook attaches great importance to sharing the work process and sees publishing about this as an important part of the artist’s practice.

Program

Witte Rook has an Artist in Residence program with working periods that vary from two weeks to two months. Annually, fourteen work periods are available that are allocated via an open call (WKNDX) or by invitation (AIR). Witte Rook sets the criterion that the artist needs an environment to come to work, as inspiration, research or interaction.
